The insanity of the Democrat party’s effort to make everyone buy electric vehicles (EVs) was on full display recently in Chicago when a bunch of Tesla vehicles became “dead robots” on the streets of the Windy City.
With frigid temperatures in Chicago, reports of desperate Tesla owners around the city start piling up higher than the snow. As temperatures plunged into the negative double digits, the poor things were left out in the cold with no vehicle to drive.
Where is global warning when you need it?
Fox 32 Chicago says that “Public charging stations have turned into car graveyards over the past couple of days.”
They reported on Tesla owner, Tyler Beard, at an Oak Brook Tesla supercharging station who has been trying to charge his vehicle since Sunday. He says, “Nothing. No juice. Still on zero percent.” He adds, “And this is like three hours being out here after being out here three hours yesterday.”
It appears that charging frozen batteries takes a really really really long time. Maybe the EV folks should try a hair dryer to warm up their batteries. But even if they’re successful at charging their cold battery, the batteries don’t appear to hold a charge for very long.
Who knew?
How about the entire planet.
But Democrats don’t care.
They don’t care if EVs don’t work during cold weather periods. They don’t care if EVs are unaffordable. They don’t care if it takes more energy to make an EV than a gas-powered vehicle.
They don’t care if children in foreign countries are exploited to mine the needed materials for EVs. They don’t care if our electric grid cannot produce the needed energy for everyone to have an EV.
They don’t care if the batteries are toxic when discarded. They don’t care if there is not enough of an infrastructure to charge the EVs in good weather let alone bad weather.
Democrats just don’t care. They will continue to spend billions on EVs, handing out subsidies and appropriations and grants – our taxpayer dollars – to fund their political agenda.
And according to here.com, “Consistent exposure to extremely cold temperatures can potentially damage the EV battery prematurely.”
Guess that means there are several states that EV owners can’t live in that get cold for much of the winter. Or maybe several DOZEN states.
So this sad winter tale ends with a bunch of government-conned liberals who bought into Biden’s EV wet dream, only to be left disappointed when their woke vehicles became very “un-woke” on a cold winter’s day.
I hope they didn’t need to get their kid to school. I hope they didn’t need to get to a doctor’s appointment or to the hospital. Because what happened instead were frozen vehicles, long lines and abandoned cars at charging stations all over the city.

Tesla owner Chalis Mizelle was also one of dozens of Tesla folks trying to charge their vehicles. He said about the situation, “This is crazy. It’s a disaster. Seriously.”
Yes, that’s exactly what the Democrat party is. A disaster.
