President Biden’s son, 53-year-old Hunter, made a surprise appearance at the House Oversight Committee’s contempt hearing on Wednesday according to Just the News and other media outlets. You can watch the hearing here from C-SPAN.

The House was scheduled to discuss holding Hunter in contempt after not complying with a subpoena concerning with his family’s business dealings. That vote was taken and passed by both the House Oversight and House Judiciary committees. The resolution now goes to the House floor for a vote by the whole chamber but it’s not clear when the vote will be scheduled.

Hunter appeared briefly at the Oversight Committee meeting for about 24 minutes on Wednesday but quickly took off before Georgia GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene could even thank the Chair for handing the time over so that she could speak.

Hunter wasn’t sitting at a table to be questioned. He was in the audience with a couple of his pals including attorney Abbe Lowell.

While Hunter was sitting in the audience, South Carolina Rep. Nancy Mace (R) looked at Hunter and said, “You are the epitome of white privilege, coming into the oversight committee, spitting in our face, ignoring a congressional subpoena to be deposed…”

While she is speaking, one of Hunter’s buds next to him is laughing.

Mace got interrupted and shot back, “I’m speaking…are women allowed to speak in here?” She went on to say that Hunter Biden should be arrested and go to jail “right here and right now.” After getting interrupted, the Chair gave her back the remainder of her allotted time to speak.

Mace asked Hunter why he can’t show up to do his deposition and called his appearance at the hearing a “political stunt” and a “game that you are playing with the American people.”

Hunter didn’t sit in the room very long after that exchange.

Faster than a rat up a drainpipe, off he went. All we saw was Hunter Biden’s back (and that of his entourage) as he sprinted into the hallway with three of his goons, including attorney Abbe Lowell, to talk to the press.

As Hunter left, Greene said, “Excuse me, Hunter, apparently you’re afraid of my words.”

While reporters shouted questions at Hunter about what kind of crack he smokes, Lowell gave a 2-minute statement saying, “Hunter Biden was and is a private citizen. Despite this, Republicans have sought to use him as a surrogate to attack his father.”

Lowell went on to complain that their offers to work with the House committees were ignored and that the Republicans had instead issued a subpoena in November for a ‘behind closed doors deposition’ which he said is a “tactic that the Republicans have repeatedly misused in their political crusade to selectively leak and mischaracterize what witnesses have said.”

Lowell droned on for a few more minutes after that while Hunter stood still and silent next to him like a stump. As they left and reporters shouted out more questions to Hunter but he continued to ignore them.

The spectacle was done, in part I’m pretty sure, to not only get a nice audience for the Hunter press conference but also to draw attention away from the impeachment hearing to get rid of Homeland Insecurity Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas over his abject failure to secure the border.
