In February of 2023, Ford Motor Company announced that they would be partnering with Chinese- based Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL) in order to built an all-electric vehicle battery plant in rural Marshall Township in Michigan.

It is referred to as the BlueOval Battery Park Michigan by the company and has been lauded by Michigan Democratic Governor Gretchen Whitmer as part of her climate change agenda for the state and plans to push EVs on everyone. Democrat lawmakers jumped in to give the project all kinds of taxpayer-funded deals to make the megasite happen.

Michigan taxpayers on the hook for Michigan EV megasites.

The project dubbed “Worst Economic Development Deal of the Year” by the Center for Economic Accountability, is slated to get $1.75 billion in planned subsidies for the electric vehicle battery plant.

The folks of Marshall weren’t interested in the megasite – but too bad for them. Once the Democratic state government decides something is going to happen, it’s going to happen.

Community pushback is of no concern to the Democrats in the state.

With help from local government officials, economic development corporations, non-profits, private businesses, and the non-disclosure agreements that were signed, the Democratic-supported megasites in our state operate in the dark and secure the needed resources and support they needed before communities even get wind of their plans. By the time the taxpayers and voters in these communities know what hit them, it’s usually too late to fight back.

According to the Detroit Free Press, the governor even spent $100K in “dark money” to “run a public relations campaign against local Marshall-area residents who were being inconveniently vocal in their opposition to the deal.” How lovely.

When it comes to the EV-linked megasites in the state, it’s no holds barred for Michigan Democrats. They will move ahead at any costs. Even if they are linked to the Chinese. And apparently, even if they are linked to North Korea.

Security risk red flags are everywhere.

With the Chinese infiltrating our American communities, building factories near military bases, airports and other sensitive areas, there has been plenty of reasons for opposition to the projects.

Because of that and other concerns, back in September of last year, it was reported that U.S. lawmakers were demanding documents on the Ford battery partnership with CATL. In fact, the chairs of three U.S. House of Representatives committees demanded that Ford turn over documents tied to its partnership with Chinese battery company CATL, according to Reuters.

The lawmakers also threatened to call Ford CEO Jim Farley to testify before Congress to find out more information about the $3.5 billion battery manufacturing plant in Michigan that would be using Chinese technology.

Documents revealed to have a link to North Korea and Chinese military

Looks like those lawmakers got some documents because it’s now being reported that some of those same lawmakers have sent a letter to the Biden administration about a BIG problem.

Reps Mike Gallagher, chair of the select committee on China, and Cathy McMorris Rodgers, chair of the Energy and Commerce Committee, have sent a letter to President Disaster, urging him probe four Chinese companies reportedly involved in Ford Motor’s planned Michigan battery plant. This was uncovered by a letter made public on Monday by Reuters.

The lawmakers have concerns over the companies’ alleged connections to the Chinese military, the Chinese Communist Party, the North Korean government and their suspected involvement in human rights abuses in China’s Xinjiang region.

Investigation needed to probe the Michigan Ford megasite project.

Yahoo Finance reports that the lawmakers are calling for an investigation by the Commerce Department into the roles played by these companies in the megasite’s “design, construction, and information technology (IT) processes.”

Ford maintains that they have complete ownership and operation of the battery plant but it looks like they will probably foreign folks above them who will most likely be calling the shots – or might be voluntarily allowing it to happen. Ford is in bed with our enemies but their “green” agenda is money.

United States would be relying on Chinese technology.

At the very least, the United States doesn’t need to be relying on Chinese technology or what’s reported as a “Beijing-based company” working on the design of the Michigan plant. Not to mention the project allegedly having ties to North Korea.

So what could go wrong with our governor throwing in with the Chinese and North Korea to push her green agenda? Plenty. Slave labor, money laundering, cyber espionage, human rights abuses, security risks to our country…and that’s just a start.

Pentagon has already banned Defense Dept. from buying EV batteries from CATL

The Pentagon has already banned CATL, Gotion and some others for posing “national security risks” and the Defense Dept. is not allowed to buy electric vehicle batteries that are produced by these manufacturers.

The United States is in no hurry to protect us though – the ban doesn’t go into effect until October 2027. Plenty of damage can be done to us by then. But the Democrats don’t seem to care. No one is in a rush to project America from our enemies.

The green energy wet dreams of the Democrats needs to move ahead no matter what.
