Fox News is reporting that the Children’s National Hospital in Washington DC has been offering “gender-affirming” hysterectomies for kids between the ages of birth to 21-years old since 2021.

Fox News found an archived webpage that was still up about two weeks ago talking about the hysterectomies through their hospital’s gynecology program. If the hospital is still performing the surgery, they are no longer advertising it.

Libs of TikTok first tweeted the hospital confirmed doing gender-affirming hysterectomies on kids younger than 16-years-old. The Fox News article posted a screenshot of their information. The title is “Specialized Gynecology Care for Children and Teens” and it says the pediatric gynecology program coordinates care for patients with a range of surgical and non-surgical concerns.”

It lists their services to include “gender-affirming medical care and gender-affirming hysterectomy.”

Incredulously, the National Center for Transgender Equality is touting a court case that ruled that the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) can cover gender dysphoria.

So that means the court has ruled – and the transgender community is happy about – the fact that gender dysphoria is now legally defined as a disability.

On the American Psychiatric Association’s website, it says that gender dysphoria is a “psychological distress that results from an incongruence between one’s sex assigned at birth and one’s gender identity.”

By the way, gender is not “assigned” at birth. In almost all cases, you are either born female or male. Those are just facts – and the medical personnel documents those facts just like the weight and length of the baby when it’s born.

The American Psychiatric Association say that medical affirmation is not recommended for prepubertal children but they also say treatment may include pubertal suppression for adolescents with gender dysphoria and gender-affirming hormones like estrogen and testosterone. But nowhere in their treatment protocol does it include the finality of a surgical intervention like a hysterectomy.

When Fox News Digital contacted the hospital about the gender-affirming hysterectomies, they denied providing the service for kids and said the offer of doing it for kids ages 0-21 was a “flaw in the design of our website.” Fox News reported that the gender-affirming information on the hospital’s website about hysterectomies had been there since at least June of 2021.

The spokesperson for the hospital went on to say that the hospital was “committed to fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment for all and serving the LGBTQ+ patients and families in the full spectrum of their care.”
