So it turns out that woke and entitled billionaire Mark Cuban is a jerk AND he’s a coward – big surprise (not).

Mark Cuban, owner of the Dallas Mavericks basketball team, had decided to stop playing the National Anthem before home games in the Maverick’s American Airlines Center and it was supposedly a permanent decision.

However after a lot of backlash from the public, the NBA quickly put a kibosh on those plans in their Wednesday statement where they said, “With NBA teams now in the process of welcoming fans back into their arenas, all teams will play the National Anthem in keeping with longstanding league policy.”

Poor Mark. Looks like he’ll just have to face things like a man and deal with the repercussions of his players kneeling if that’s what he was worried about.

After hearing about the NBA’s mandate, Cuban said, “”We respect and always have respected the passion people have for the Anthem and our country. I have always stood for the Anthem with the hand over my heart – no matter where I hear it played. But we also hear the voices of those who do not feel the Anthem represents them. We feel they also need to be respected and heard because they have not been heard.”

Doesn’t represent them?

How?

Are they not Americans?

The National Anthem is about the country, not individual basketball players and how they feel about whatever the hot topic is of the day.

The Star-Spangled Banner was written after attorney and poet Francis Scott Key watched our soldiers raise a large American flag over Fort McHenry in Baltimore, Maryland after fighting the British.

And the song has been used for decades in sports venues since 1918 to show our patriotism to the country as well as the police, the military and our veterans who keep us safe and defend our freedoms.

How exactly does that not represent them?

The National Anthem has NOTHING to do with racial justice, cancer research, animal welfare or any other cause. If you take a knee during the song, you’re taking a knee against our country and those who protect it, plain and simple.

Mark Cuban is a billionaire who, besides owning the NBA Dallas Mavericks basketball team, is one of the regular investors who appears on ABC’s reality TV show “The Shark Tank.” It’s a TV show where entrepreneurs pitch their business ideas and try to get one or more of the Shark Tank personalities to invest money in their companies.

The show was interesting for a while but I quit watching it several years ago for three reasons.

1. They kept telling the entrepreneurs that they planned to use China for manufacturing to get the price of goods down.

2. They talked about Obama all the time.

3. Mark Cuban is a jerk.

When I watched the show, Mark Cuban was a rude bully who tried to steamroll over the other investors on the show as well as the entrepreneurs.

Cuban was impatient with the entrepreneurs who wanted to talk to the other investors on the show in order to get a better deal. He tried to force the entrepreneurs to take an early deal from HIM – or else he’s out. And a lot of the time he refused to go in on deals with others saying, “I don’t need them.”

Cuban would be about the last person I’d want investing in my company. If he exhibits that kind of impatience and bullying behavior in public on a TV show, I’m sure he’s worse in private.

The jury is out on Cuban’s real motives of why he stopped playing the National Anthem, but in my humble opinion, I don’t think he wanted to deal with any of the controversy.

So he decided to ditch patriotism and our country in the process.

No National Anthem at all.

But amazingly, the NBA figured out that it was not a good move and reversed Cuban’s idiotic plans after seeing feedback from people like Fort Worth Texas Police Officers’ Association VP Anthony White who Tweeted “Get woke, go broke! I won’t spend another cent on the Dallas Mavs!”

It’s time for the disrespectful kneeling to end. It was was only started because cop-hating Colin Kaepernick needed to get some free PR to save his career.

His friends in the Black Lives Matter movement have plenty of venues and free press to expound on their complaints about the country and push their racial justice agenda. It doesn’t need to happen when our National Anthem is played.
