Another year of masks.

This for a virus that still has over a 95 percent recovery rate. For a virus where the numbers have been manipulated by reprehensible Democrats in New York and possibly elsewhere. For mask diktats that many Americans now ignore on a regular basis because they know them to be government busybody horse manure. On the advice of? The modern Talleyrand, Dr. Anthony Fauci.

Charles Maurice de Talleyrand-Perigord was a Napoleonic era French diplomat who survived various regime changes, always coming out on top. When somebody asked him what he did during the French Revolution, he responded, “I survived.” So it is with Fauci.

Last year Trump had good things to say about him. This year Biden takes his counsel. Now, as Fauci is a career government doctor, that’s not strange on the face of it. But to still have that kind of power and influence after the changing of the guard between such disparate administrations? That is odd. But not to Fauci.

He likely full well knew from the start that most of the virus regulations were completely unnecessary. However, he also knew they would garner power to and gain favor with the Democrats, who were likely to win the White House in 2020. He also knows that without a virus his personal power severely diminishes. So, guess what? The virus and its now absurd mask requirement is here to stay for another year. Here’s Fauci commenting on Sunday.

“As we get into the fall and the winter, by the end of the year, I agree with [President Biden] completely, that we will be approaching a degree of normality. It may or may not be precisely the way it was in November of 2019 but it’ll be much much better than we’re doing right now.”

Fauci said “a lot of things can happen to modify that. That’s the reason why we’ve got to be careful. Because you have variance that you need to deal with. There are so many other things that would make a projection that I give you today on this Sunday, wind up not being the case six months from now.

“If you combine getting most of the people in the country vaccinated with getting the level of virus in the community very, very low, then I believe you are going to be able to say you know for the most part we don’t necessarily have to wear masks. When it goes way down, and the overwhelming majority of the people in the population are vaccinated, then I would feel comfortable in saying you know we need to pull back on the masks, we don’t need to have masks.”

Notice the constant qualifications and open doors to further virus regulations. Notice the limbo poles set before any talk of an end to the virus can happen. But the most obvious thing to notice is that Anthony Fauci likes power, influence, and celebrity. He’s not going to give them up without a fight, regardless of any legitimate public health considerations.
