The world lost a true legend on Saturday, when the original James Bond himself Sean Connery died in his sleep at the age of 90. Now, a former Bond girl who starred alongside Connery in the 1983 movie Never Say Never Again is speaking suit to reveal how he put her “at ease” during a sex scene for the film.

Daily Mail reported that Valerie Leon has fond memories of working with Connery, as she said he was a perfect gentleman on set.

“We did share some fun times together. He was an incredible man,” she explained. “I did have this bed scene with him which I was quite worried about. Despite my age, I had never done a bed scene on film, that’s for sure. So I was quite worried about that, but he did put me at ease for it.”

Leon added that she remembers Connery jumping out of bed as soon as his wife Micheline arrived on set.

“Filming does take a long time and he is a perfectionist. He did stay in bed all morning however, when his wife came in the afternoon to watch, he could not get out of bed quick enough!” Leon said. “He was the world’s greatest sex symbol so no wonder I was worried about going to bed with the world’s greatest sex symbol but he put me at ease.”

The actress also said that she felt that Connery put a lot of his own personality into the character of James Bond. Leon then talked about her own dedication to her role, saying that she learned to fish for one scene.

“I had never held a fishing rod in my life! And of course it worked because I saved him from death twice,” she recounted. “The first time was when he was being chased by sharks in the sea and the second time in the hotel when he came to my room and his room was blown up.”

Connery was the first actor to ever portray Bond, appearing as the character in seven films between 1962 and 1983. He died in his sleep in the Bahamas on Saturday after battling dementia in his final years, leaving behind millions of fans who will never forget him.
