Just when we thought 2020 couldn’t get any stranger or any scarier, we find out that another asteroid is hurtling towards earth and will arrive on Monday, November 2nd – the day before the election.

Asteroid 2018VP1 (not a cool name, I know) is coming towards us with a 0.41% of hitting earth.

Luckily, we have the perfect president in place to keep us safe. A man who actually established the formation of the Space Force in December of 2019.

Had anyone else been talking about forming a sixth branch of our Armed Forces to deal with galactic threats to our country or the planet?

Nope.

Only our great President Trump could see a need for a Space Force which could be able to, among other things, stop a cosmic catastrophe.

Do you support individual military members being able to opt out of getting the COVID vaccine?

Without the Space Force, we could possibly have a mass extinction the likes of which we’ve never seen before.

But we’re ready to face any adversity now thanks to Trump.

When Trump announced the formation of the Space Force back in June of 2018, I am sure that many of you snickered.

The name alone makes some people conjure up visions of Star Trek or The Jetsons and sounds a “little out there.”

But, as often happens, Trump was way ahead of the rest of us.

When he announced The Space Force, he said, “It is not enough to merely have an American presence in space, we must have American dominance in space.”

If you take a look at the website of the United States Space Force (USSF), it’s quite a legitimate and serious endeavor.

It’s set up within the Department of the Air Force with Barbara Barrett, Secretary of the Air Force, having overall responsibility for the Force under the guidance and direction of the Secretary of Defense.

There is also a four-star general, John W. “Jay” Raymond who is the “Chief of Space Operations.”

The USSF will organize, train and equip Space Forces to protect United States and allied interests in space.

The Force will develop military space professionals, acquire military space systems, mature the military doctrine for space power and organize space forces to present to our Combatant Commands.

Sounds pretty cool.

As the USSF website says, space has become essential to our security and prosperity, so much so that we need a branch of the military dedicated to its defense. Our national defense depends on unfettered access to space.

Recruits are already headed to training where they’ll spend most of their military training with the Air Force recruits and then spend extra time in specialized instruction and mentoring from Space Force personnel.

Our daily lives and economic systems rely on space with the use of GPS technology; communications; the internet and the satellites that power everything.

Without access to space, our easy and relatively safe way of life that we are used to would not exist.

And now we have a Space Force that can protect us from aliens and space debris as well as other problems and adversaries.

The good news is that Asteroid 2018VP1 and is only 6.5 feet across.

Scientists don’t think it’ll enter our planet’s atmosphere and would probably disintegrate if it does because it’s so small.

But who knows.

We’re lead to believe that the Russian dossier is real. That man-made climate change is real.

How do we know we’re not in the path of an extinction type of event?

At the very least, Asteroid 2018VP1 could land on your car or in your driveway. Or in the lobby of your favorite McDonald’s. That would be devastating.

We just don’t know.

What we DO know is that come rain or shine, Trump will keep us safe.

Human life will continue after Trump stops possible untold devastation.

Sources close to the situation have called the asteroid’s pending arrival an alarming situation only made tolerable by the knowledge that Trump is in charge of our very survival.

Conservative commentator Ben Shapiro Tweeted, “It’s going to be amazing when Trump deploys Space Force to nuke the asteroid just in time to win 50 states.”

So you are still alive on election day, you know who to thank.
