Since the death of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, the Democrats have been on an assault towards the Trump administration, especially when it comes to filling the Supreme Court seat. With Republicans holding majority control of the Senate, many believe they will push the confirmation of Amy Coney Barrett through. Well, Ted Cruz confirmed those rumors by telling reporters Barrett will be in the Supreme Court before the end of October.

Talking to Breitbart News, Ted Cruz had nothing but great things to say about the upcoming nominee hearing. When discussing Barrett’s hearing, Cruz said, “I think she’s going to do very, very well at the confirmation hearings, and I’m confident that we will have the votes and that we’ll confirm by the end of the month before Election Day.”

While Cruz was hopeful for the future with Barrett, he does have several concerns when looking across the aisle. The Democrats have been on the defense since Donald Trump took office. With Republicans holding the Senate, there is little the Democrats could do to stop Barrett’s confirmation. As it stands now, the vote will most likely go in favor of Barrett.

Even with the majority of the votes, the Democrats have warned of filibustering and even packing the court if President Trump doesn’t wait till after the election to fill the seat. But Ted Cruz says the tactics used by the Democrats go way beyond extra judges.

“They’re just out of their minds with fury, and so … the day her name was put forth, a couple of different Democrat operatives targeted her kids and began to begin attacking her young children, I got to say kids should be completely off bounds and then the fact that they would even consider going after young children I think is despicable. That’s actually one of the things that I shared with Judge Barrett when we sat down and visited yesterday, I said, listen, I can’t control what the Democrats do and if they target your family but, I can promise you that I and others will do everything we can to defend your family if it gets ugly, which it can.”

Since Barrett’s nominee confirmation last Saturday, Democrats have voiced their outspoken disdain, promising to not legitimize the process. Some party members even opted to not meet with Barrett on the grounds that she was picked by Donald Trump.
