Hollywood star Jim Carrey’s attempts to humiliate Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) just blew up in his face, as the senator was able to turn the tables on him in the best way possible.

Over the past few years, Carrey has been creating deranged political cartoons that typically are meant to vilify Republicans. His latest creation depicted Cruz as the devil.

“Ted Cruz, Hellbound Class of 2020,” Carrey captioned the bizarre cartoon when posting it on Twitter.

Cruz, however, had the perfect response that undoubtedly immediately took the wind right out of Carrey’s sails.

“Hey @JimCarrey can I get a copy of this for my office?” Cruz tweeted.

Ouch! For a liberal snowflake like Carrey, that has got to hurt!

This isn’t the first time Carrey has targeted Cruz with one of his cartoons. Last year, he created an unflattering portrait of Cruz with an offensive caption written over it.

“Some greasy Joe McCarthy wanna-be, who is shameless and will remain nameless, was lecturing me in the press about morality and civility after spending years in the Senate defending the rights of mass murderers to own AR-15s with which they massacre innocent children in their classrooms,” Carrey wrote.

“I thought I must be dreaming, but I haven’t woken up yet. I guess this hypocrisy is the new American Dream,” Carey added. “Gee…I hope the loss of women’s rights, our enslavement by the drug companies and the unnecessary war in Iran won’t disturb anyone’s slumber.”

Carrey was referring to the fact that Cruz had criticized him for a cartoon he made of Alabama’s Republican Governor Kay Ivey, depicting her as the subject of an abortion.

“This is not OK,” Cruz said in response, according to Newsweek. “Today’s Left: vicious, angry & consumed by hate. Instead of insults & dehumanizing rage, we should return to civility. I disagree w/ Carrey’s politics, but believe we should respect his humanity nonetheless. I wish he could reciprocate. #LoveIsStrongerThanHate.”

Ironically, Cruz had promised at the start of 2020 that he would stop creating political cartoons forever.

“To me, that was like a time, and it’s been a time, where I just wanted to be the lighthouse that was saying, ‘Hey, stay off the rocks, you’re headed for the rocks,'” he told Yahoo News. “We’re still headed for the rocks, but I’ve decided, ‘You understand my message, I don’t need to be steeped in it anymore.’ I think after a while … you get stuck in that kind of stuff.”

Unfortunately, Carrey has not stuck to that promise at all, and has continued creating these disturbing political cartoons as if it’s his job to do so.
