Back in August, we reported that a devastating fire had destroyed the upstate New York home of celebrity chef and talk show host Rachael Ray. Since then, Ray has been living in her guest house with her husband John Cusimano.

This week, on the latest episode of her show, Ray gave world-renowned French chef Jacques Pepin a tour of the guest house that she’s been residing in for weeks. Ray revealed that after the fire, Jacques and Gloria Pepin were “the only friends” who offered up their guest house for her and her husband to stay in. She decided to give him a tour of the guest house to let him know that she is doing just fine there.

“Although we lost our home, this is strangely homey because it is literally a small version of our house,” Ray said.

As she walked Pepin through the home, she pointed out specific design features to him.

“Basically, I designed the house so you can see everything that’s going on in the house from the kitchen,” Ray said.

Though the square footage of the guest house is small, it was built upward with extremely high ceilings to make it appear bigger.

This comes after Ray opened up about the fire on her show last month.

“On August 9th, my house burned,” she said. “15 years of memories; 40 years of notebooks, drawings, thoughts, my life’s work. In the years that I lived here, I learned an awful lot. In the few weeks since it burned, I think I’ve learned even more. Today, we’re going to share what’s left of our home with you.”

After the fire, Ray took to Twitter to thank her fans for all their support, love, and prayers in the wake of this tragedy.

“Thank you to our local first responders for being kind and gracious and saving what they could of our home,” she wrote at the time. “Grateful that my mom, my husband, my dog… we’re all okay.”

“These are the days we all have to be grateful for what we have, not what we’ve lost,” the seasoned chef and talk show host added.
