Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich spoke out on Sunday to offer a major warning about the 2020 election.
While appearing on New York AM WABC 770 radio’s “The Cats Roundtable,” Gingrich explained to host John Catsimatidis that next month’s election is “the most sobering choice since 1864” when Abraham Lincoln ran for reelection. He added that if Lincoln had lost, the “South would have seceded,” which would mean that “slavery would have survived.”
Gingrich went on to warn that if Joe Biden wins, Democrats will have him “sit in a corner” and allow his running mate Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) to govern the country along with her fellow radical liberals.
“All the left wants is power,” Gingrich said.
“And we are [now] in a similar situation with people who do not like America, want to replace America, are committed to profoundly changing the world you and I live in,” Gingrich continued. “And would like to make us basically like California, where it’s virtually impossible to defeat the machine in California because they’ve rigged the game so decisively.”
This comes days after Gingrich praised Vice President Mike Pence for his performance against Kamala Harris in last week’s debate, going so far as to say that President Donald Trump should “study” it.
“I thought Vice President Pence did a remarkable job the other night, which I really hope the president will study,” Gingrich told Fox News. “He was calm. He was focused. He would go back and say, ‘You didn’t answer the question.’ He wasn’t hostile. He just stayed on her. And I think, as a result, he had a very good evening. And the country had a much better sense of what a radical Kamala Harris is.”
