Fans of the long-running daytime television show “Judge Judy” were devastated earlier this year when Judge Judy Sheindlin announced that it would be ending next year after its 25th season. However, fans learned today that they won’t need to miss Sheindlin on their screens for very long, as she has just landed a brand new court show on IMDb TV!

Entertainment Tonight reported that there is not yet an official name nor a premiere date for the show, but it has previously been referred to as “Judy Justice.”

“I’m over the moon to be in business with Amazon Studios and continuing this incredible journey with them on a new platform is so exciting,” Sheindlin said statement. “I used to yell at my husband, Jerry, for all the packages he had ordered from Amazon every day.”

“I have enough mouthwash in the cabinets to keep the entire planet’s breath fresh until the next millennium. The doorbell never stops ringing. The dogs don’t even bark at the delivery people anymore,” she added “After I signed this deal, I apologized to Jerry. Who would have thought that the Sheindlins and Amazon would be mishpachah?”

Lauren Anderson and Ryan Pirozzi, Co-Heads of Content and Programming for IMDb TV, released a statement of their own in which they described Sheindlin as “a TV icon and visionary.”

“As we build the IMDb TV slate of high-quality, ambitious Amazon Studios Originals, we are delighted to deliver customers a court program from the legendary Judge Sheindlin who, without a doubt, is the very best in the business,” they said.

Sheindlin had referenced her potential new show when announcing that “Judge Judy” would end in 2021 earlier this year.

“I’ve had a 25-year-long marriage with CBS and it’s been successful,” she told talk show host Ellen DeGeneres back in March. “Next year will be our 25th season, silver anniversary, and CBS, I think felt they wanted to optimally utilize the repeats of my program. Because now they have 25 years of reruns. So, what they decided to do was to sell a couple of years’ worth of reruns. But I’m not tired, so Judy Justice will be coming out a year later.”

Judge Judy, you’ll be able to see next year — a full year, all new shows. With a ponytail!” Sheindlin added. “The following couple of years, you should be able to catch all the reruns that CBS has sold to the stations that are currently carrying [Judge] Judy, and Judy Justice will be going elsewhere. Isn’t that fun?”

She went on to release a very brief statement about the end of her show.

“I am looking forward to a banner 25th anniversary season. CBS has been a fine partner for 20 plus years,” she said. “They have decided to monetize their Judge Judy library of reruns. I wish them good luck with their experiment.”
