Liberals everywhere had a field day last night when a fly landed on Mike Pence’s head during his vice presidential debate against Kamala Harris. The left has been acting like this was the funniest thing ever, as if it had never happened before.

They’re conveniently ignoring that this exact same thing happened to their beloved Hillary Clinton during a debate back in 2016. Since it happened to Clinton, however, liberals behaved like adults and dutifully ignored the fly at the time.

It was during the second presidential debate in 2016 that a fly landed on Clinton’s forehead, right between her eyes, according to the New York Post. Clinton tried to remain unfazed by the insect, refusing to swat at it as she continued speaking into the microphone and walking across the stage.

Like Clinton, Pence ignored the fly as it sat on his head for about two minutes. Despite his superb handling of the situation, the moment quickly went viral, with dozens of parody Pence fly accounts popping up on Twitter immediately.

Even Joe Biden’s campaign got in on the action, posting a tweet asking for donations to “help this campaign fly.”

The campaign then began selling a commemorative fly swatter with the slogan “truth over flies” for $10.

Ignoring her own fly moment from a few years ago, Clinton appeared to mock Pence for his own experience with an insect on the debate state as she praised Harris’ performance.

“Congratulations to @kamalaharris for a masterful debate performance,” Clinton tweeted. “She swatted away the lies with ease.”

It says it all about the left that they only have a sense of humor about this type of situation when it’s at the expense of their own. Had a fly landed on Harris, the left never would have allowed the moment to overshadow the rest of the debate. In that situation, it would not be surprising if anyone who dared to make fun of Harris for a fly landing on her would be accused of “racism.”

Since it happened to Pence, however, the left is having a blast with this.

The hypocrisy of liberals never ceases to amaze.
