Jacqueline Bisset, the British godmother of Angelina Jolie, spoke out this week to say that she believes her goddaughter and Brad Pitt will “sort it out eventually” when it comes to their bitter custody battle, which has been ongoing since 2016.

Jacqueline Bisset, a famous actress herself who was friends with Jolie’s late mother Marcheline Betrand, told Daily Mail that she knows that regardless of what happens in court, her goddaughter and Pitt will always put their six children first. However, court documents that were filed last week show that Jolie and Pitt aren’t anywhere close to coming to a custody agreement for their children: Maddox, 19, Pax, 16, Zahara, 15, Shiloh, 14, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 12.

Despite this, Bisset is optimistic about the future for the family.

“Angelina and Brad will sort it out eventually,” Bisset said. “They both love the children so they will sort it out.”

Bisset, a Golden Globe-winning actress herself, was spotted having dinner with Jolie last year at the world-famous Brasserie Lipp in Paris.

“They’re very close, and Jacqueline is someone Angelina has admired for a long time,” a source said at the time.

The latest hearings in Jolie and Pitt’s custody battle began in private this past Monday, and they are expected to continue through October 23. Pitt is reportedly seeking 50/50 joint physical and legal custody of their underage children, but a source said last month that Jolie does not agree with the terms her ex has proposed.

“She] will only agree to talk about an agreement if the home base for the children isn’t Los Angeles,” the insider said. “The younger kids are in school in Los Angeles, which Angelina has always been opposed to. They are very smart and are eager to attend school in person [amid the COVID-19 pandemic].”

Pitt and Jolie were initially able to reach a custody agreement in November of 2018, but this went off the rails when the former couple could not reach an accord in regards to the private judge they’d sought to adjudicate in their divorce case.

“Brad, for the most part, has been respectful of Angelina’s parenting,” a source told Entertainment Tonight. “While he doesn’t agree with everything, he knows she loves the kids and wants the best for them. He also knows his love and presence are needed.”
