Harvard’s T. H. Chan School of Public Health took to Twitter this week to promote an article from Popular Mechanics that was titled, “Why Some People Think 2+2=5… and why they’re right.”
The school wrote alongside a link to the article, “Have you ever thought to yourself, ‘How do I know that 2+2=4? Why isn’t it 2+2+5?’”

The article includes many quotes from Kareem Carr, a Harvard biostatistics Ph.D. student, who tries to explain why 2 plus 2 may not necessarily equal 4. Somehow, he made math all about race, arguing that statistical models are used to harm marginalized groups.
“People say it’s subjectivism to ask if math is Western. I don’t get that,” Carr said. “It’s an objective fact that some groups were more involved in the creation of modern math than others. They may have been *trying* to make it objective but it’s not stupid to ask if they actually succeeded!”
Harvard Public Health has also said that “racism is a public health crisis,” according to Campus Reform.
After the death of George Floyd, who died in police custody in Minneapolis, Minnesota back in May, Chan School Dean Michelle Williams declared that the school “stands united in doing everything we can to live these values — in both our personal and professional capacities — to be agents of anti-racist social transformation and advance the well-being of all people around the globe.”
This comes after weeks of professors at various colleges in the United States arguing that Western mathematical constructs “reek of white supremacy” and “patriarchy.”
This just goes to show that there is nothing that the left won’t label as “racist” these days. In the eyes of the radical leftists who control liberal arts colleges around the nation, even numbers can be “racist” and “triggering.” It’s nothing short of terrifying that these lunatics are the ones shaping the minds of the next generation.
