On Thursday, Poppy Harlow of “CNN Newsroom” sat down with Netflix CEO Reed Hastings to talk about the highly controversial film Cuties. In true CNN fashion, Harlow opted to never ask a single question about the film and merely chatted with Hastings, giving him softball questions only scripted actors would use.

Since the trailer released, Cuties has come under strict criticism for how the film portrays young girls. According to IMDb, the film starts when “Amy, an 11-year-old girl, joins a group of dancers named “the cuties” at school, and rapidly grows aware of her burgeoning femininity – upsetting her mother and her values in the process.”

What the synopsis fails to mention are the several scenes where the young girls are dancing sexually. The choreographed numbers range from simple body rolls to twerking. Mind you, even the poster, which Netflix approved, had the girls in inappropriate poses.

The trailer and poster quickly went viral and many subscribers sent harsh backlash to the company for promoting supposed pedophilia. Netflix’s response, “We’re deeply sorry for the inappropriate artwork that we used for ‘Cuties.’ It was not OK, nor was it representative of this French film which premiered at Sundance. We’ve now updated the pictures and description.”

As for the film, Netflix pushed forward and released it to its staggering base of viewers on Wednesday. Shortly after, the hashtag “CancelNetflix” went viral as screenshots of the girls dancing sexually in the film were posted.

Director and Producer Robby Starbuck took to twitter to give his professional take on the film. He tweeted, “Do you know how sets work? I do. I’ve directed some of the biggest stars in the world. A director on the Cuties set and a choreographer told 11 year olds to simulate sexual moves repeatedly. What they did should have them charged and registered as sex offenders.”

Yet with all this information at hand, CNN’s Harlow not only “forgot” to ask certain questions but praised the company for its strides in programming and leadership. She even went on a tirade about the company’s leap in “diversity” while not once putting Hastings in the hot seat about their so-called approved content. Not surprising since CNN also supported impeached president Bill Clinton, who was a frequent traveler to Jeffrey Epstein’s private island.
