Hollywood star Bradley Cooper just opened up in a new interview about what it’s like to be serving as caretaker to his mother in quarantine amidst the coronavirus pandemic.

Cooper has acted as caretaker to his mother, Gloria Compano, since the COVID-19 pandemic began. During that time, the Star Is Born actor has had to take extra safety precautions because of her situation.

“I’m with my daughter and my mother and my two dogs, and we have not left the house,” Cooper told Interview magazine. “My mother is going to be 80, and she has a colostomy bag, so I can’t let anybody in the house. And I can’t leave the house, because if she gets [coronavirus], it’s over.”

“We live in a little townhouse, thankfully there’s a backyard,” he added.

Cooper had previously told the Los Angeles Times that he moved in with his mom and dad, Charles Cooper, in 2011 before his father died of lung cancer.

“My family is very close, and my dad dying was brutal for all of us. It was a schism, and its aftershock has not stopped,” Cooper said. “And we need each other. So here we are … it’s not like I live in a compound and she’s in the guesthouse. No, she’s in the next room. But here’s the thing: she’s a cool chick. We can hang, and she can roll with the punches.”

Shortly after moving in with his mother, Cooper made it clear in an interview that he had no regrets about the living situation.

“I love having her,” he told Esquire at the time. “I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Cooper’s mother has accompanied Cooper to many major Hollywood events, including to the 2019 Academy Awards, where he was nominated for Best Actor, Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Picture for A Star Is Born.

Cooper, who is father to 3-year-old daughter Lea with his ex-girlfriend Irina Shayk, also talked about what how he has been entertaining his little girl at home in his latest interview.

“I’m running a one-man preschool. We get up, we do swim class in the bathtub,” he said.
