In the unfortunate circumstance of a Biden/Harris victory in November, Americans are starting to ask themselves: What would be the proper response if that administration went off the rails and, given the strong influence of so many radical socialists in its ranks, tried to enact wildly unconstitutional edicts?

An instructive case in point happened in Chile 1970-1973. A Soviet and Cuban puppet named Salvador Allende was elected president of Chile in 1970. He ran on a socialist platform, but camouflaged the more radical aspects of his socialism until he gained office.

At that point he confiscated land from private owners, brought communists into his government, brought in Cuban and Soviet arms and secret police to enforce his rule, ignored legislation and rulings by the Chilean Chamber of Deputies and the Chilean Supreme Court, tried to indoctrinate the armed forces into communism, limited free speech, attempted a socialization of healthcare, and destroyed the economy. That’s only a partial list of his dictatorial actions.

Allende hosted Fidel Castro and spurned friendship with the United States. When citizens and national institutions rose in protest he called in his Cuban and Soviet secret police advisers and tried to quash the resistance. Finally after over three years of non-stop oppression by Allende, the Chilean people, with aid from the U.S. and the Chilean military, rose in revolt and removed Allende from office. Rather than make a case against his removal, he killed himself with one of his Soviet weapons. The parallels to the present situation are ominous.

Biden/Harris are running on a virtually socialist ticket. But the Democratic Party is filled with radical socialists like the “Squad” who are far to the left of Joe Biden, as is Kamala Harris. At the top of the ticket is a man with severe cognitive difficulties who could be out of office within a year. Harris, replacing him, would bring into positions of great power those who hate the U.S. Constitution and want to replace our system with an authoritarian socialist regime.

If that was attempted, what would Americans do? If Biden or Harris called for national firearm confiscation, something many Democrats favor, in blatant violation of the Second Amendment, what if a state like Texas said no? If a Biden/Harris attorney general defines “hate speech” as anything the administration disagrees with and seeks to prosecute and silence media outlets who oppose it, an act that would be applauded by many Democrats, would the media go meekly into the night or would they fight back? If personal and corporate taxation rates approached astronomical levels to advance the way to a full socialist economy, a project near and dear to the Democrat Party heart, what would working Americans and businesses do to stop it? What if the Department of Justice brought in Chinese “security advisers”?

Alarmist? Hardly. Certain of those measures have been called for by powerful Democrat voices for decades. Some of these moves are actively on that party’s agenda right now. To save America, if Biden or Harris tries to rule by authoritarian decree, who would the nation turn to?

Well, in a desperate scenario such as that, when the basic nature of America hangs in the balance, there are those, including this analyst, who once took an oath to defend the U.S. Constitution “against all enemies foreign and domestic.” And a bunch of those oath takers are right up the road from DC at Fort Meyer. Ergo…
