In a major upset, 42- year old Jim Herman won the PGA Tournament — he edged out Billy Horschel with the final round.
Jim Herman is the 318th ranked golfer in the world.
And for his win, Mr. Herman credits President Donald Trump for a “little bit of good luck” at this week’s Wyndham Championship and says Trump is “his biggest fan.”
The Golf Channel reports Herman played a round of golf with Trump three weeks ago at Bedminster. “I’m very fortunate. I’ve had him in my corner for a long time, one of my biggest fans,” Herman said Saturday. “Whenever I play with him, I usually have some good finishes. Last two wins I had, played with him either the week or two weeks before.”
Herman is referring to the 2016 Houston Open and the 2019 Barbasol Championship, his first two PGA Tour victories.
Following his one-stroke victory Sunday over Billy Horschel, Herman made sure to praise the president, according to the Associated Press. “He’s been a big supporter of mine. I need to play golf with him a little bit more.”
The Associated Press reports a mutual friend passed along the president’s best wishes to Herman on Saturday. Herman responded with a bogey-free and career-low 61.

President Trump loves winners, and he has the best instincts picking out winners…people with a drive to succeed and be the best they can be.
That’s the sign of a true leader – someone who ss the greatest in others.
