A Montana family is still in shock after waking to find their 2020 Trump flags burned on the front lawn. Julia and Robert O’Rourke told reporters they purchased the flags that day and hung them to show support for President Trump in the upcoming election. While the family is aware of the heated unrest towards their President, they never expected such an act of hate that could have ended deadly.
The family, which includes four children, says they were confused when they noticed the flags missing, but soon found two piles of ash. Julia recalls, “None of us knew! We woke up to a charred pile of flag in our yard, and had no idea.”
Realizing the vandalism wasn’t an accident, the family quickly reviewed the security cameras they had installed. Shocking, the video shows a man stumbling into O’Rourke’s yard and ripping down the flags. After lighting them on fire, the man retreats back to the street and disappears.

Thanks to the footage, Police identified the man as Eric Herrera and cited him with a misdemeanor for criminal mischief.
But is that enough? Some might not believe so. Even Julia says, “I felt violated, I felt that my kids’ and my life and my husband’s life were in danger. It could have easily burned my house down. There was a fire ban and as close as it was to the house, it was very eerie.”
The house in which the O’Rourke family live was built back in 1905 and has reportedly never been renovated. If the fire had spread to the house, Julia believes they would have never known.
While major news outlets refrain from reporting on the harassment of Trump supporters, the Montana Republic Party heard about the story and quickly tweeted it with the caption, “The liberal mob isn’t just in cities across the country, it’s right here in Montana and it’s threatening the safety of freedom-loving Montanans.”
