NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell just gave a new interview in which he shamelessly groveled to former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, saying that he wished that he had listened to him more. He also said that Kaepernick and his fellow national anthem kneelers are not unpatriotic.
“These are not people who are unpatriotic,” Goodell told former NFL player Emmanuel Acho on the video series “Uncomfortable Conversations with a Black Man.”
Goodell: “They’re not disloyal. They’re not against our military. In fact, many of those guys were in the military, and they’re a military family. And what they were trying to do is exercise their right to bring attention to something that needs to get fixed. And that misrepresentation of who they were and what they were doing was the thing that really gnawed at me.”

When Acho asked Goodell about what he would say in a public apology to Kaepernick, the NFL commissioner gave in to the radical Left even more.
“Well, the first thing I’d say is I wish we had listened earlier, Kaep, to what you were kneeling about and what you were trying to bring attention to,” he said. “We had invited him in several times to have the conversation, to have the dialogue… I wish we had the benefit of that. We never did. You know, we would have benefited from that. Absolutely.”
Back in June, Goodell issued a lengthy apology for not handling the anthem-kneeling protests better.
“We, the NFL, condemn racism and the systematic oppression of Black People,” Goodell said. “We, the NFL, admit we were wrong for not listening to NFL players earlier and encourage all to speak out and peacefully protest. We, the NFL, believe Black Lives Matter.”
“Without black players, there would be no National Football League and the protests around the country are emblematic of the centuries of silence, inequality and oppression of black players, coaches, fans and staff,” he added.
Kaepernick made headlines during the 2016 NFL season when he began taking a knee during the national anthem to protest against racial inequality in the United States. Millions of Americans were offended by this, as they saw it as a clear sign of disrespect toward the American flag and those who have fought and died for it.
It’s a shame that the NFL is now catering to the radical Left ahead of respecting the American flag.
