In the new book “Finding Freedom,” it’s been revealed that Meghan Markle was “furious” at her family for the “absurd claims” that they made about her relationship with Prince Harry to the press.

Daily Mail reported that the book, which was written by Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand, claims that Harry was shocked at how “badly” Meghan’s family behaved after they gave numerous interviews accusing her of turning her back on her “problem” half-sister Samantha and father Thomas.

Meghan and her “estranged” half-sister had not seen each other in over a decade, according to the book, and had only bumped into each other twice since they were children. A “confidant” of Meghan’s told Scobie and Durand that Samantha were trying to pretend the pair were closer than they were, as if they had the dynamic of Kate Middleton and her sister Pippa, who are known to be very close.

“That’s not the case. Meg didn’t grow up with Samantha. She barely saw her,” the source said.

Meghan was also livid when her half-brother, Thomas Markle Jr., wrote an open letter to Harry claiming the couple were not right for each other, while also accusing the actress of leaving their father “forgotten, alone and bankrupt.” Meghan and her closest friends were “extremely angry” about the comments he made in the letter.

When Samantha arrived at Kensington Palace to deliver a letter and demand a face-to-face meeting, she actually dropped it at the wrong security gate. This entire debacle left Meghan feeling “weirded out.”

“It’s such a joke. Of course they care now that she’s marrying a prince,” another insider said.

The book also claims that Meghan asked her father “more than once” to tell Samantha to stop giving these interviews. When Samantha got wind of this, she allegedly replied, “All Meghan needs to do is contact me herself to put an end to it.”

Though it was initially reported that Harry and Meghan directly cooperated with Scobie and Durand for this book, they have since denied this through a spokesperson.

“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were not interviewed and did not contribute to ‘Finding Freedom,’” they said in a statement. “This book is based on the authors’ own experiences as members of the royal press corps and heir own independent reporting.”
