It has just been revealed that Meghan Markle was “disappointed” when Kate Middleton skipped her introduction to the British royal family.

This was one of the many bombshells revealed in the new book “Finding Freedom” by authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand. The book claims that in November of 2016, after Meghan and Prince Harry had been dating for a few months, they came to Buckingham Palace for an informal tea.

“Meghan was disappointed she didn’t get to meet Kate, who was with the children at Anmer Hall, the couple’s Norfolk estate home near Sandringham,” the authors revealed, according to the New York Post. “But having gotten along so well with Harry’s brother, she didn’t think much more about that. William had made his feelings known to his brother when he shared how happy he was to see Harry smiling.”

The authors added that Meghan, who was nervous about meeting the future king and protective older brother of her boyfriend, had tea with William and Harry in the kitchen, away from royal staff.

This comes after royal author Andrew Morton told New Idea that Kate is “devastated” by the claims made in “Finding Freedom.”

“There’s no doubt the rift between Harry and William has deeply affected Kate. It upsets her,” Morton said.

Royal expert Phil Dampier agreed with this sentiment, saying that the book will do “little to heal the relationships” between Harry and his older brother, Prince William.

“I’m told that the pair are speaking at the moment, but the conversations are stilted and difficult,” Dampier said.

Though “Finding Freedom” claimed that Kate “did little to bridge the divide” with Meghan during her time in the royal family, Morton pointed out that the Duchess had “definitely sided with her husband.” He added that the divide between William and Harry is “just a very sad situation,” adding that the duo have now “gone their separate ways.”

Dampier added that Harry and Meghan have not issued any statements saying that the claims made in the book are false.

“They are quick to sue newspapers and paparazzi photographers,” he said. “So if they don’t condemn the content, we can assume they have no problem with the narrative.”
