A royal expert is taking a stand for Meghan Markle and her husband Prince Harry, going so far as to brand their critics “morons.”

Omid Scobie is one of the authors of bombshell new book “Finding Freedom: Harry and Meghan and the Making of a Modern Family,” which chronicles Meghan and Harry’s romance from the time they left to their “Megxit” from the British royal family. Scobie took to Twitter this week to blast Meghan and Harry’s critics, and to encourage them to pay attention to a different royal scandal instead.

“Would love to occasionally see the tears and energy these morons spend on a non-working royal used on Prince Andrew’s horrendous mess,” Scobie tweeted. “Or is there nothing worse than a woman of colour with a voice?”

Scobie is referring to the allegations surrounding Andrew’s friendship with the late billionaire pedophile Jeffrey Epstein. Andrew has been accused by Virginia Roberts Giuffre, Epstein’s former sex slave, of having sex with her on three occasions, including once when she was an underage 17 year-old.

The description of “Finding Freedom” states that the goal of the book is to set the record straight about Harry and Meghan:

“For the very first time, ‘Finding Freedom’ goes beyond the headlines to reveal unknown details of Harry and Meghan’s life together, dispelling the many rumors and misconceptions that plague the couple on both sides of the pond. As members of the select group of reporters that cover the British Royal Family and their engagements, Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand have witnessed the young couple’s lives as few outsiders can.”

“With unique access and written with the participation of those closest to the couple, ‘Finding Freedom’ is an honest, up-close, and disarming portrait of a confident, influential, and forward-thinking couple who are unafraid to break with tradition, determined to create a new path away from the spotlight, and dedicated to building a humanitarian legacy that will make a profound difference in the world.”

Though it was initially reported that Harry and Meghan cooperated with Scobie and Durand for this book, they have since denied this to be the case.

“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were not interviewed and did not contribute to ‘Finding Freedom,’” the royal couple said in a statement. “This book is based on the authors’ own experiences as members of the royal press corps and their own independent reporting.”
