Black Lives Matter protesters took over the mostly liberal residential neighborhood of Georgetown in Washington D.C. on Saturday night, shouting homophobic slurs as they purposely tried to wake up the residents of the neighborhood.

The Black Lives Matter rioters descended on the area just before midnight on Saturday night and screamed, “Wake your a** up!” One person was spotted shouting through a megaphone, “If we don’t get no justice, then you don’t get no sleep!”

Other protesters banged pots and pans in an attempt to wake up locals. (Warning: The following series of brief videos contains foul language and graphic imagery.)

The protesters then threatened to stay in front of homes until the residents listened to them. When they went so far as to call one resident a racist, the person replied, “I am a person of color.”

At one point, the protesters started demonstrating in front of a strip of mostly LGBT-centered bars in Dupont Circle.

Reporter Ford Fischer, who was on the scene of the protests, said that the demonstrators were the They/Them Collective, a self-described “anarchist abolitionist” group. They accosted people who were dining outside at restaurants, demanding that they raise their fists to “declare your loyalty” to black lives. When some of the diners refused to do so, the group’s leader attempted to intimidate them by calling them out.

The leader added that any people who didn’t raise their fists were “racists” who would be “voting for Trump.” Homophobic slurs were shouted at these outdoor diners. As well, the mob’s leader told restaurant workers to kick out customers who don’t align with the tenets of the Black Lives Matter movement.

The situation escalated between the leader and one resident to the point where they began shoving one another.

At one point, the protesters went so far as to block a black man from going to his own home.

The media continues to portray these protesters as peaceful, but these videos serve as a reminder that they are anything but that.
