With the Democrats finally getting behind Joe Biden as their Presidential Nominee, the former Vice President to Barack Obama promised to pick a female as his running mate.

While many candidates boast empty dreams, Joe Biden fulfilled his promise by picking his once-opponent Kamala Harris to accompany him on the Democratic Ballot this coming election.  Though many pundits would argue it was a DNC decision and was not left up to Biden himself.

Still, while many Democrats support the Black woman with both Indian and Jamaican heritage, some are wondering if the pick was not off of merit, but a political stunt to appease voters.  Others further question the strategy of choosing Harris who comes from the state of California, which will go to the Democrats no matter who is on the ballot.

During an interview on Good Morning America, the Democratic hopeful reassured voters that he didn’t pick Kamala Harris due to her being a woman or the color of her skin. He further told Robin Roberts, “The government should look like the people, look like the country. Fifty-one percent of the people in this country are women.” He added, “Women hold up half the sky, and in order to be able to succeed you’ve got to be dealt it across the board.”

Going into more detail, Biden referred to Harris as an “incredible woman” and while there were several promising
candidates, including Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms and Susan Rice, Harris seemed to “fit the closest and the best.”

It should be noted that Biden and Harris have been friends for several years, with many claiming Harris was close to Biden’s late son, Beau.

As for their campaign moving forward, experts see Kamala Harris bringing huge donations and support to the Biden campaign.  Despite many – even within the Democrat party -having issues with Harris, in her four years as a Senator she has proven herself to be an extraordinary fundraiser.

But beyond her accounting abilities, Harris gained national fame and was lauded by liberals when she grilled several of President Trump’s Supreme Court Justice nominees such as Jeff Sessions and Brett Kavanaugh.

While Biden and Harris’ fate in the upcoming election is yet to be determined, conservatives will need to have a counter-attack strategy for Harris over the long haul as, despite a poor performance in the 2020 primaries, she is considered a presidential favorite in the upcoming 2024 or 2028 election for the Democrats.

All the more reason to get out and vote red across the board in November and slow any momentum before it gets started.
