Last week, Tom Bergeron shocked his fans when he revealed that he had abruptly been fired from his job hosting “Dancing With The Stars,” which he had hosted since the show premiered in 2005. Now, the 65 year-old television legend is teasing a possible return to acting after the firing.
Two days after he was fired by the ABC show, Bergeron was sent a tweet by the official Murdoch Mysteries Twitter account that expressed that he’s welcome to come on the program anytime. Bergeron quickly responded by indicating that he was very interested in the opportunity.
“Don’t toy with me. I’m dead serious,” he wrote. “Not that I want to be dead on the show. I already was killed off on an episode of ‘Castle.’ But I’d LOVE to be the bad guy (not James Gillies level bad, tho). Let’s DM about it.”

This came after Bergeron revealed on Twitter that he had been fired by “DWTS.”
“Just informed @DancingABC will be continuing without me,” he tweeted. “It’s been an incredible 15 year run and the most unexpected gift of my career. I’m grateful for that and for the lifelong friendships made. That said, now what am I supposed to do with all of these glitter masks?”

Afterwards, Bergeron took to Instagram to reflect on his career alongside a photo of himself with comedic legend Dick Van Dyke.
“My ‘career,’ which only seems to have a logical progression when viewed in hindsight, is, to me, a story of friendships rather than shows. And if, in the course of making those friends, one of them happens to be someone you’ve idolized since childhood, you damn well better realize how blessed you are,” Bergeron wrote. “To all of you friends I’ve yet to meet, thank you for your kind words this week. I’m humbled. And now, overwhelmed by your flattery, very likely impossible to live with.”

“Tom Bergeron will forever be part of the Dancing with the Stars family,” the network said in a statement obtained by US Weekly. “As we embark on a new creative direction, he departs the show with our sincerest thanks and gratitude for his trademark wit and charm that helped make this show a success.”
