Earlier this week, we reported that Prince Harry appeared to have betrayed the Queen and her precious British Empire by saying that the negative things about the Commonwealth’s history “must be acknowledged,” even if it’s “uncomfortable.” Now, this has come back to bite Harry, as a top royal photographer is firing back to say that the prince has “lost the plot” and “should stop listening to his wife.”

During a call with young leaders from the Queen’s Commonwealth Trust, Harry said that the Commonwealth, which his grandmother is the head of, needs to follow others who have “acknowledged the past” and are “trying to right their wrongs.”

He also admitted to having his own “unconscious bias.”

Longtime royal photographer Arthur Edwards, however, was not having any of it. He described it as an “insult” that Harry was attacking that which the Queen “cherishes above all things,” which is protecting the Commonwealth.

“Prince Harry is entitled to his views. But in criticizing the Commonwealth – the organisation closest to his grandmother’s heart – he has simply lost the plot,” Edwards wrote for The Sun. He added that making matters even worse is the fact that Harry knows “just how important the Commonwealth is” to the Queen.

“To criticize the one thing the Queen cherishes above all things, which is preserving the Commonwealth, is an insult to her — no matter what the palace may say officially,” Edwards continued.

“Harry should stop listening to his wife, who is obviously filling him full of these ideas. She is evidently no fan of Her Majesty’s beloved Commonwealth.”

“Indeed, after the Commonwealth service at Westminster Abbey in March — her and Harry’s last official royal engagement — Meghan couldn’t wait to leave,” he stated.

Meghan had participated in the call as well, and she said it was time for a “reckoning” in which people “own” up to their past wrongs.

Edwards pointed out that Meghan knows how much the Commonwealth means to the Queen as well, as during her wedding to Harry, her veil was embroidered with the flower of every Commonwealth nation.

Edwards explained that the biggest concern for the Queen in regards to Harry’s comments will be that they tarnish the comments for the Queen’s Commonwealth Trust for young people who have “scant knowledge of what it is and what it does.”
