What do you expect from a state that won’t protect its citizens from rioting, looting and murder?

What do you expect from a state that is fine defunding the police from the biggest city in America?

Not much.

And that’s what we keep getting from them. Not much.

There are more than 19 million people in New York and many of those households have one or more cats and dogs in their homes.

Thanks to the New York State Assembly Agriculture Committee, millions of cats and dogs are on their own now because the committee members didn’t deem it important enough to protect these pets from abusers who will injure and kill them.

Do you support individual military members being able to opt out of getting the COVID vaccine?

Seeing how the state was going down the tubes protecting humans, I didn’t think we had long to wait until the state decided to abandon the cats and dogs in New York as well. I wasn’t wrong.

According to Nathan Winograd, an attorney and respected animal rights advocate, the New York State Assembly Agriculture Committee had a dozen pro-animal bills pending this week and didn’t pass any of them.

The liberal politicians pretend they are the ones who “care” and have good intentions but quite often their actions show otherwise.

Protecting animals used to be one of the things that defined the democratic party.

Don’t hurt the animals, they cried. Don’t stuff chickens in small crates. Don’t transport cows inhumanely. Don’t hurt the dogs.

Not so much anymore.

When given the opportunity to protect animals in New York, the democrats took a pass.

The agriculture committee, which is 71% democrat, voted to hold the animal protection bills for consideration. This means the bills sit there with nothing being done, usually because there aren’t enough votes to pass the bills but the spineless politicians don’t want to go on record as voting no. Technically, by holding the bills, it allows them to be revisited later but let’s face it, that’s probably not going to happen unless there is public outrage over this.

So did they pass anything?

Yes, these incredibly moral people passed a bill that “vests jurisdiction over automobile tile inflation machines with the state.”

This vote will undoubtedly make the world a better place, I’m sure.

What about the bill to create an animal abuse registry?

Nope. Not passed.

What about the bill to increase penalties for animal abuse?

Nope. Not passed.

What about the bill to allow animals in shelters to have a fighting chance to get adopted before being killed?

Nope. Not passed.

What about the bill to prevent the continuous chaining of dogs?

Nope. Not passed.

What about the bill to force the animal shelters to make reasonable efforts to find the owner of a stray cat or dog before they are adopted out or killed?

Nope. Not passed.

What about the bill to increase penalties for aggravated cruelty to animals and those who commit multiple animal cruelty offenses?

Nope. Not passed.

New York is currently a state that accepts unpunished criminality, whether those crimes are committed against people or animals.

I put the morality, empathy, decency and humanity of these politicians up for judgment and the voters should as well the next time they vote for these cowardly New York assembly members.
