Meghan Markle was just attacked as being “fame hungry” by longtime royal insider Lady Colin Campbell, who claimed that the wife of Prince Harry is trying to outshine his mother, the late Princess Diana.

In an interview with New magazine, Campbell described Meghan and Harry’s move to Los Angeles, California as “terribly sad,” adding that she believes Meghan was the brains behind it. She went on to claim that this is all part of Meghan’s plan to outshine Diana.

“It’s a terribly, terribly sad situation. In my opinion, Harry is a much less intelligent character than she is and I think he’s so desperate to please her and go along with whatever she says, no matter how ill-conceived it is,” Campbell said. “I believe that if Harry had married anyone else, he would still be a member of the royal family and I believe Meghan’s ambition was always to outshine Diana.”

“Meghan’s ambition has always been to outshine Diana, but I think she’s gravely misread the situation,” Campbell continued. “She thought sheer hype would get her into LA, where she could become the great star she always wanted to be. But I don’t think it will happen for her. I really think she’ll struggle to fulfill her ambition.”

She went on to describe meeting Meghan at the wedding of Harry’s best friend Charlie Van Straubenzee’s wedding to Daisy Jenks. Campbell claimed that Meghan “froze out” most of the guests at the wedding, and that she has cost Harry “most of his friends”.

“A girl went up to Meghan, introduced herself, and said how beautiful she thought she was,” Campbell alleged. “She said she knew it was Meghan’s birthday and wished her a happy birthday. Meghan looked at her as if she had committed a great faux pas by speaking to her and walked off. It was so cold.”

This isn’t the first time that Campbell has publicly bashed Meghan, as she branded her as a “fame addict” just last month.

“This person is no more suited to royal life than Angelina Jolie would be to competitive boxing,” Campbell said of Meghan. “She has inflated herself beyond natural entitlement. Since she always wanted to be a star, she has this propensity for exaggeration.”

“As for Harry, he should have been instructive. This nonsense that she didn’t at first know so much about him… I mean, please,” she added. “She’d looked him up in books. And she pats him like, ‘good boy.’ She even answers for him.”
