A photographer who has spent decades working with the British royal family is speaking out this week to claim that Meghan Markle had “no intention” of living in the United Kingdom after getting married to Prince Harry.

Daily Mail reported that royal photographer Arthur Edwards told TalkRadio that staying in the U.K. was not in Meghan’s “plans” even though she spent £2.4million of taxpayers’ money on refurbishing Frogmore Cottage. He also said that Harry went “completely sour” as soon as he married the American actress.

“All that house refurbishment at Frogmore and the money that they spent on that, she had no intention of staying here,” said Edwards, who has been photographing Harry since the day he was born. The 79 year-old added that he saw an immediate change in the way Harry treated the media after his wedding.

“Unfortunately for the last couple of years, he has gone completely sour,” he said. “He didn’t talk to me for a year. I’ve been photographing him since he was born, and it was down to her.”

Edwards said that the media tried to organize a meeting with Meghan three different times, but it never happened.

“I think the moment she married Harry it was ‘right, let’s get out of here as quick as we can,'” he said. “I mean, it was ridiculous.”

After stepping down as senior royals earlier this year, Harry and Meghan briefly moved to Canada before relocating to her hometown of Los Angeles, California. There, they have been living in the $18 million Beverly Hills mansion of Hollywood mogul Tyler Perry with their 1 year-old son Archie while they look for a home of their own in the area.

Edwards claimed that he could tell from the start that Meghan “had no intention of staying in the UK.”

“It’s not in her plans and she is dragging Harry along and unfortunately, he’s gone along with it,” he said.

This comes days after Edwards slammed Harry for turning on his grandmother when the prince said the British Commonwealth needs to follow others who have “acknowledged the past” and are “trying to right their wrongs.”

“Prince Harry is entitled to his views,” Edwards wrote in The Sun. “But in criticizing the Commonwealth – the organization closest to his grandmother’s heart – he has simply lost the plot.”
