Fox News  reports the Republican National Committee (RNC) and the Trump campaign announced their biggest online fundraising day ever on Sunday. The combined operation brought in $14 million across three platforms on the president’s birthday and Flag Day. This beat the triad’s previous online fundraising record of $10 million on Oct. 19, 2016.

The funds come as Republican campaign cash continues to widely outperform Democrat efforts, as it has for the entire primary season. Building a money leviathan for more than three years, Trump and the RNC have roughly $255 million cash on hand, compared with the almost $100 million the Joe Biden campaign and DNC have in their combined accounts.

The RNC, along with the Trump Make America Great Again Committee (TMAGAC) and Donald J. Trump for President, Inc. (DJTP), received an average online gift of $46. Trump turned 74 on Sunday. “Enthusiasm for President Trump continues to be our greatest motivator and political weapon,” said RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel. “Republicans are thinking smarter digitally and harnessing support and energy for President Trump to up our online fundraising game and outwork, outdo, and outmaneuver the Democrats at every turn.”

Former Vice President Biden’s mistake-laden livestreamed events have attracted a small number of viewers and polls show what the Trump campaign calls an “enthusiasm gap.” According to an ABC News/Washington Post survey earlier this year, 53 percent of Trump supporters say they’re “very enthusiastic” about the president, but only 24 percent of those supporting Biden say the same about him.

“The grassroots support behind President Trump’s reelection is something no campaign has ever seen,” said Trump campaign manager Brad Parscale. “Just as more than a million people have registered for tickets to the President’s rally this weekend [in Oklahoma], they are also donating to help his campaign in record numbers. There is an enthusiasm gap—it is real and it is wide. President Trump’s supporters would run through a brick wall to vote for him. Nobody is running through a brick wall for Joe Biden.”

Former Virginia Democrat Governor Terry McAuliffe recently said to a Democrat political gathering in Norfolk, VA, “People say all the time, ‘Oh, we got to get the vice president out of the basement.’ He’s fine in the basement.” McAuliffe also said, “We’re building the digital today, which Trump has a huge lead on, he’s got like 88 million Twitter followers.”

With the fundraising advantage the president will be able to roll out media and conduct vital Get-Out-the-Vote (GOTV) operations to a much enhanced extent than will the Biden campaign. In an election that at this point is running neck and neck, depending on the survey referenced, GOTV efforts will be decisive in translating vocal and enthusiastic Trump support into Trump voter turnout. Legal efforts to combat expected Democrat voter suppression efforts are also likely to be well funded.
