Sports has gotten so tiring since it became a Social Justice activist group instead of a sports org.

Remember the good old days when athletes showed up to their job, did their job, left, and then supported whatever group, activism, or charity they wanted to on their own time?

Those were the days, right?

Well, they’re long gone thanks to filthy rich young athletes who want to increase their brand awareness by turning the game into their personal soapbox – because that’s what this is – and it has nothing. to do with what the “activism” is. Like I said earlier, you can and should support whatever cause you like when you’re off the clock, but to expect other people to sit there while you pontificate and spout “your truth,” is selfish, narcissist, and unprofessional.

All the world is not a stage, and you’re not the star actor, Mr. Athelete.

But again, today’s selfish athletes don’t have that mindset. Everything is emotion-driven and over the top and they must put it in your face or doesn’t count.

Take the NBA for example…a bunch of millionaire athletes are now threatening to cancel the entire season because of “systematic racism.”

The NBA’s plan to restart its 2019-2020 season next month in Orlando is facing pushback from black players who believe it’s contingent on them to pull a Colin Kaepernick and hijack the game by making it about something it’s not.

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, during a conference call with over 80 other NBA players this Friday, Kyrie Irving of the Brooklyn Nets expressed concerns that restarting basketball would distract Americans from the ongoing discussion over systemic racism in law enforcement, which for the record isn’t real.

ESPN reported that the call also included “several players suggesting they’d be willing to sit out the season — and numerous more discussing social issues, league economics and, ultimately, a sense that they needed to be united in a decision.”

“Once we start playing basketball again, the news will turn from systemic racism to who did what in the game last night,” another conference participant said in a statement to the outlet. “It’s a crucial time for us to be able to play and blend that and impact what’s happening in our communities.”

 

Everyone’s gotta be an “activist” now – even Crayola Crayons and Hershey Candy Bars. It’s just too much. It makes normal people feel overwhelmed and bombarded. Like we’re being beaten over the head and everyone’s screaming in our faces.

This is not how you win over “hearts and minds” successfully to any cause. I don’t care what it is.

This is a “mob-rule” mentality where one side holds the other side hostage until they repeat the words that have been written on the paper.
