Mark Hamill, who is best known for playing Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars movies, just went above and beyond to surprise a nurse who has been fighting the coronavirus pandemic on the frontlines for months.

Fox News reported that Hamill surprised San Diego nurse Chloé Ducos with a very special gift while appearing on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” last week.

“I’ve been reading about all you’ve done, six years as a nurse, teaching at night, you’re in the tents,” Hamill told Ducos on the show. “I mean, that’s so great, I mean to me, I’m a pretend hero, you’re the real-life hero. So thank you for your service.”

Hamill then told Ducos that he would be sending her a lightsaber, much to her joy and surprise!

“I’m having palpitations and I’m crying!” the ecstatic nurse exclaimed.

Things only got better from there as Hamill told Ducos that she would be getting $10,000 from PayPal, and that all her coworkers were also getting PayPal as well. This was definitely a surprise that the hardworking California nurse will never forget!

Hamill is not the only Star Wars star who is making headlines this week. John Boyega, who played the character of Finn in the series, just delivered a powerful speech in London’s Hyde Park to show his support for the Black Lives Matter movement.

“Black lives have always mattered. We have always been important. We have always meant something,” said Boyega, 28. “We have always succeeded regardless. And now is the time. I ain’t waiting.”

“Look, I don’t know if I’m going to have a career after this, but f— that,” he added. “Today is about innocent people who were halfway through their process. We don’t know what George Floyd could have achieved, we don’t know what Sandra Bland could have achieved, but today we’re going to make sure that won’t be an alien thought to our young ones.”

The official Star Wars Twitter account immediately threw its support behind Boyega, writing, “We stand with and support you, @JohnBoyega.”

It’s nice to see the stars of Star Wars making headlines for all the right reasons!
