First it was CHAZ, a supposedly autonomous territory inside the United States. Then it was CHOP, an organized protest zone. Now on Tuesday it is set to return to the control of Seattle, as Mayor Jenny Durkan decided on Sunday that two shootings marked the end to the Antifa, socialist, and adolescent gathering of misfits and criminals who had taken over parts of Seattle for almost two weeks.

In these two weeks Mayor Durkan did nothing while armed secessionists took over her streets. In fact, she and others praised them and goaded them on. Then the shooting started, as it always does with socialists. “The cumulative impacts of the gatherings and protests and the nighttime atmosphere and violence has led to increasingly difficult circumstances for our businesses and residents. The impacts have increased and the safety has decreased,” said the mayor, finally waking up to the carnage her cowardice had caused.

The planned dismantling of the CHOP followed the shooting death of a 19-year-old man on Saturday. Another person was also injured. On Sunday, a 17-year-old was shot in the arm. The mayor then commented, “There should be no place in Seattle that the Seattle Fire Department and the Seattle Police Department can’t go.” Which was an odd comment, as she had let just that happen for about two weeks.

Not to be outdone in left-wing lunacy, Seattle City Council member Kshama Sawant said Saturday in a statement, without citing any evidence whatsoever, that the killing of the 19-year-old victim was a possible conservative armed assault. She opined, “Though we await confirmation of the details of the killing, there are indications that this may have been a right-wing attack.”

Sawant added: “Seattle’s establishment Mayor Jenny Durkan and Police Chief Carmen Best also share responsibility for having portrayed our protest movement as violent.” One has to be just to the left of Angela Davis to consider the mayor of Seattle “establishment.” But apparently Miss Sawant fits the bill. The mayor was not in total agreement with her: “It is premature to determine or speculate about the cause of the shooting, or the perpetrators, including whether it was connected or related to any of the protests occurring on Capitol Hill,” said Durkan.

As they realized play time was about to be over, CHAZ/CHOP ringleaders attempted to spin their way out of the debacle, saying, “We would like to acknowledge that no organizations, protests, or revolutions are perfect. We must all be willing to collectively learn and react quickly to mistakes made within our movement. We do not want to see what was started with the intention of lifting the BLM message destroyed before us all.” Revolution? No. The storming of the Bastille was a revolution. This was Bolshie daycare.

“It was doomed to happen from Day One,” Matthew Ploszaj, who lives in the vicinity, told the press. “No one wanted to say it, but I’m surprised it [the shootings] didn’t happen sooner.”

“This is what happens when our elected officials don’t have the political will to enforce the rule of law,” Seattle Police union chief Michael Solan said. “Now our greater Seattle community, those reasonable people are seeing what is unfolding here.” Solan said the violence was “the sole responsibility of our elected officials here locally that have allowed this to occur… It is absolutely unbelievable in the United States of America, in a major urban area, that the police cannot go in to assist victims of extreme violence.” Up until about Tuesday they could not. That situation should change for the better in the next several days, as the American flag is once again raised over all of Seattle.
