Not sure why anyone values Meghan McCain’s opinion. She had a famous father. Her 15 minutes should be over by now. The real mistake was that the RNC helped her father to get the nomination, to begin with.
On Friday, Meghan McCain and the cackling hens of The View thought it would help things if they gave 2020 Democratic Presidential candidate Joe Biden some advice as he starts his VP search. As Biden has already let out the bag, he’s looking for a female for the position which prompted Meghan to warn him: Don’t make the same mistake her father made in 2008.

Let’s make something clear. John was his party. He did not sit well with Republicans or Democrats. He was about himself. He had an extremely long career in DC, and very little in accomplishments. Often, he used his hero status to get himself through debates, rather than use facts or ideas.
McCain didn’t lose because of Palin; he lost because he was not the best spokesperson for the Republican Party at the time. Palin’s participation probably boosted his chances.

[Daily Beast] Biden has been holding virtual live stream events with prospective VP picks, which Whoopi Goldberg fretted might look like a “reality show” competition. McCain explained that she is personally not a big fan of “chemistry tests.”
“Not to make this about me, but when I was originally offered the job on this show, they wanted to test me with a bunch of the ladies and I said, ‘No, you see what I can do,’” McCain revealed. As she explained it, she again refused to do a chemistry test a few years later and they hired her anyway. “I think vice presidential picks are the exact same way.”
She continued, “My father—and I know people get very triggered when I talk about him, so just bear with me—he chose an unorthodox running mate. He chose someone he hadn’t had a lot of experience with. In fact, I believe he only met Sarah Palin twice before announcing her as his vice presidential pick.”
On his deathbed, John McCain used both his final book and an HBO documentary about his life to say that one of his “biggest regrets,” in his daughter’s words, was choosing Palin over his friend Joe Lieberman.
Because of the times we’re living in now, Meghan McCain said that he “has to go with the person who is going to lead us out of this absolute epidemic, pandemic, generational crisis, because as far as I’m concerned, it’s looking like it’s going to get a whole lot worse before it gets better.”
Palin was the least of McCain’s troubles. He was a bitter, petty, so and so who loved power first and foremost. I suspect Palin was chosen not for her looks, but as a newbie, she could be shoved into a corner much in the way of traditional VP’s. He was not about to have someone on his ticket with some topspin that could outshine him. Palin was the better half of that ticket. Unfortunately, McCain’s team did nothing to prepare her for the media meat grinder they threw her into.
His lack of confidence (displayed by pettiness toward others) is evident by his alternative book choice of a Democrat (Joe Lieberman) for his running mate. His war hero status was because he hated Trump. Nevertheless, I will always give him props for staying strong in a POW camp. But that doesn’t, alone, make a man. He was one of hundreds in the same fix that also remained strong.

I don’t know why anyone would listen to Meghan. The only thing that makes her relevant is the fact that she is John McCain’s daughter, and that is a stretch to say she is relevant.
I’m trying to figure out what the big deal is about Stacey Abrams. She was a Georgia state rep and then lost the gubernatorial race. So, that’s very, very little experience. I think she’s a smart, nice woman, but hardly qualified to be VP. At least Elizabeth Warren, Amy Klobuchar, and Kamala Harris hold national office. Even so, I don’t like any of them very much.
At this point, it doesn’t matter if Joe picks a stable running mate, he’s already cemented his loss with a plethora of bad gaffes and optics of dementia.
