In their failing yet ongoing campaign to propagandize for the Democrats, this weekend the mainstream media decided to pull out all the stops and make up in the editing bay what they couldn’t get on camera. Both NBC and CBS took interviews and dishonestly edited them to make Trump administration officials look bad. Then the Democrat media shills got caught. At least NBC had the basic decency (this time) to admit the “error.” CBS is, of course, stonewalling.

It started with Attorney General Bill Barr appearing Sunday on “Meet the Press with Chuck Todd.” Barr spoke of the “rule of law.” But when the clip aired, Todd had taken that line out so he could say that he was “struck by the cynicism of the answer — it’s a correct answer, but he’s the attorney general. He didn’t make the case that he was upholding the rule of law. He was almost admitting that, yeah, this was a political job.”

What Barr actually said was this: “I think a fair history would say it was a good decision because it upheld the rule of law. It upheld the standards of the Department of Justice, and it undid what was an injustice.” Greg Price jumped on the dishonest attempt to smear Barr.

Barr’s own staff hit back hard: “Very disappointed by the deceptive editing/commentary by @ChuckTodd on @MeetThePress on AG Barr’s CBS interview,” DOJ spokeswoman Kerri Kupec wrote. “Compare the two transcripts below. Not only did the AG make the case in the VERY answer Chuck says he didn’t, he also did so multiple times throughout the interview.”

To their credit, “Meet the Press” posted on Twitter: “You’re correct. Earlier today, we inadvertently and inaccurately cut short a video clip of an interview with AG Barr before offering commentary and analysis. The remaining clip included important remarks from the attorney general that we missed, and we regret the error.” Inadvertently, ha!

The president was no slouch in nailing Todd and NBC.  He tweeted that “Sleepy Eyes Chuck Todd” should be fired, saying he “knew exactly what he was doing.” He wasn’t the only one upset. “A tweet in no way covers the error,” wrote The Federalist’s Mollie Hemingway. “A lot of people are rightly angry at @chucktodd for willfully lying about AG Barr’s comments on rule of law… These intentional lies in service of false narratives have gone on for years. Infuriating.”

But the press was on a roll this weekend and decided to go for broke in their unfair and biased coverage of the Trump administration. As such, CBS News’ “60 Minutes” also aired a clip falsely inferring that Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said the coronavirus was man-made. The State Department called the edited clip a lie.

Not only have they not retracted or apologized, as NBC did, but CBS is trying to brazen it out by refusing comment, even though they were blatantly caught in the act of lying about the words of Mike Pompeo. You’ll see more of this right up until November, as the media and their Democrat allies do all they can to lie to the American people about President Trump and his team. What they fail to get, as they also failed to understand in 2016, is that Americans are hip to their game.
