Country music star Keith Urban just stepped up to give a huge gift to healthcare workers fighting coronavirus on the frontlines when he performed a private, drive-in concert for them in Nashville, Tennessee.

Fox News reported that on Thursday night, Urban teamed up with two other musicians to play some of their hit songs on a flatbed truck in front of about 125 cars. The concert took place at the Stardust Drive-In movie theater, about 40 miles east of Nashville, and around two hundred workers from Vanderbilt Health attended.

“It’s like glorified karaoke,” Urban explained of his setup, which involved one band member playing pre-recorded tracks and another guitar/keyboard player. Urban, who had not performed live since February, said that planning this concert took about a month.

“All the cars are tilted forward so they’ve all got a great view and you’ve got this freakin’ killer video wall behind the stage,” he said.

Urban played a variety of songs, playing oldies but goodies like “Blue Ain’t Your Color” and “The Fighter,” along with new songs off his upcoming record “The Speed of Now, Part 1.”

Urban said the concert was a huge success, as he loved having the chance to perform live again. During the event, he asked attendees to send him selfies of himself which he then blew up on the screen behind him.

“There would just be a random lights flashing out there, then a horn and a cheer over there, and then I realized it was all these people popping up on screen behind me,” he said.

In the end, Urban just wanted to say thank you to frontline workers who are putting their own lives at risk to fight COVID-19 on the frontlines.

“Walking on stage, it was just huge gratitude, particularly for that audience last night,” he said.
