Democratic Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer has kept the state locked down for a long time. She’s done it even though since the beginning, more than 70% of the cases and almost 80% of the deaths have come from three counties in southeastern Michigan.

Well, now we find out that it’s worse than we thought. We’ve been lied to about what’s really going on in the state.

It turns out that that 29.7% of the COVID-19 deaths in Michigan are from Detroit nursing homes. And we didn’t find this out from the Whitmer administration, the people who can actually get their hands on any data they need. We find this out from an investigation by Click on Detroit.

In the meantime, Governor Whitmer continues to ship COVID-19 elderly patients to nursing homes all over the state, with no actual safety protocols put in place. They pretend there are strict rules but they are full of crap.

I read the information the state sent to the nursing homes and they do not mandate that the nursing homes have enough PPEs or that the staff stays separated from the COVID-19 patients and the non- COVID-19 patients.

Just as importantly, there are absolutely no mandates about having COVID-19 patients in negative pressure rooms which would stop the virus from spreading to other parts of their building through the ventilation system.

Do you support individual military members being able to opt out of getting the COVID vaccine?

There is no reason why these patients can’t stay in the hospitals until they are recovered. The state’s website shows that there are enough hospital beds for them to stay there. Whitmer is putting our elderly population at risk while she keeps the rest of us on lockdown.

The data shows that there are 20 regional hubs and that 12 of those facilities ALSO have nursing home residents with the virus. Since the governor isn’t allowing FOIAs (freedom of information act requests), there is no way to find out if these residents got infected before or after she started sending infected patients to them. However, 12 out of 20 facilities is a high percentage.. If nothing else, it shows that these places are incapable of managing the virus and shouldn’t be taking in any more infected people.

There are finally some lawmakers challenging Whitmer’s asinine regional hub nursing home policy.

Michigan State Senator Lucido (Shelby Twp) is asking for a probe into Whitmer’s directive mandating the regional hub policy. He sent a letter on Monday to U.S. Attorney Matthew Schneider and Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel in seek of two separate probes.

He said, “Nursing homes are not hospitals, and no one expects them to be. They’re not equipped or prepared to handle the type of work or administer the type of care that hospitals provide. They don’t have the physical systems, like proper HVAC facilities, nor the medications or the personnel to do the job of a hospital. That is why we have hospitals.”

Detroit democrat Rep. Leslie Love is also criticizing Whitmer’s policy

She said, “To return seniors into an environment, seniors with the virus still recovering from the virus, into an environment with, well, seniors, just didn’t seem – it’s not a good idea.”

Love’s 86-year-old mother is in a nursing home and she worries about the virus spreading there. She said, “That would break my heart because I’ve been on the front lines of this, trying to make sure our seniors – my mother, your mother, anybody else’s mother – does not get sick and die from this, particularly if they’re in a nursing home.”
