At the Wednesday virus briefing President Trump said he “disagrees strongly” with Georgia Governor Brian Kemp’s decision to reopen barber shops, hair salons, nail shops, and tattoo parlors. He cited social distancing concerns. The president also told the governor he feels the reopening of those specific establishments is premature, but stressed that he demurred to the governor’s call in this instance.

President Trump announced that Harvard University has surrendered to White House and public pressure and will return the $9 million in federal funds it received in virus relief aid. Similarly, Stanford University said it would not accept federal virus relief funds and Shake Shack returned funds it had received under the program.

The president looked forward to a vote on Thursday in the House that would signal final passage of the next stage of the virus relief package and includes $310 billion to refill the Paycheck Protection Program that helps small businesses meet payrolls during the virus crisis. The president further mentioned that Detroit was past its virus peak and that infections were declining nationwide, especially in metropolitan areas.

The press, indignant after being called out by the president for false reporting, was at their usual biased and left-wing game. More than one reporter framed a question in a hard left ideological context, only to be quickly and effectively shot down by the president.

Trump also announced that the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds and the U.S. Navy Blue Angels aerobatic teams will soon be performing across the skies of the U.S. to honor first responders and health workers in the thick of the fight against the coronavirus. In a related move, New York City is planning a retro style ticker tape parade for healthcare workers when the virus has subsided.

In a final note and blistering critique of the Obama administration, the president said Obama let the Iranians get away with challenging the U.S. Navy in the Persian Gulf for years. Trump promised that if Iranian gunboats continued to harass the U.S. Navy in the Gulf our Navy would “shoot them out of the water.”
