“Thor: Ragnorak” star Idris Elba, who tested positive for coronavirus last month, just spoke out to say that the world should do a week of quarantine every year to commemorate this coronavirus pandemic.

“I think that the world should take a week of quarantine every year just to remember this time. Remember each other. I really do,” Elba told Sky News. “I think it’s… other species use it. It’s called hibernation. But it does remind you that the world doesn’t tick on your time.”

Elba tested positive for coronavirus on March 17, and he spent the next two weeks in quarantine before he recovered. Though it is not known for sure how he got the virus, it has been speculated that he contracted the infection from an interaction with the Canadian prime minister’s wife, Sophie Trudeau, who also tested positive.

“It’s hard to say when I got the disease or when I contracted COVID-19, it’s hard to say when. I will say that I know I’ve been exposed to it from March 4,” he said. “That’s when the person that came up positive, that was the time I got in contact with that person.”

“So essentially, I could have been positive from March 4, but it’s hard to say when I contracted someone with corona, you can contract it at anytime but my known exposure was March 4,” Elba added.

This comes after Elba implied that human beings deserved the coronavirus pandemic because of the way we have treated the planet Earth. “Our world has been taking a kicking. We’ve damaged our world and, you know, it’s no surprise that our world is reacting to the human race,” Elba told Oprah Winfrey.

“There’s no surprise that a virus has been created that is going to slow us down and ultimately make us think differently about our world and ourselves,” he added. “That’s like for me, that’s a standout thing that’s very obvious. This is almost like the world’s cry out to like, ‘hey hey hey, you’re kicking me, and what you’re doing is not good. So I’ll get rid of you,’ as any organism would do is try and get rid of an infection and maybe this is it for the world.”

Clearly, Elba is not playing with a full deck of cards right now. It’s offensive to suggest that humans deserved the coronavirus pandemic, and it’s ridiculous to even think that we would ever go back into quarantine willingly once this is all over. Next time, he might want to keep his ridiculous Hollywood elitist opinions to himself, because this is just embarrassing!
