Have we all lost our minds in this country? Have we allowed fear, panic, and hysteria to replace our common sense?
Why on earth are we releasing criminals back into society over “COVID-19 fears?”
These people are already in quarantine. If you’re worried about their health, place them in solitary confinement for a couple of weeks and call it a day.
Instead, we’re releasing child rapists and murders back into society to wreak more havoc on innocent people.
And sure enough, that’s exactly what’s happening.
Case in point – Rikers released a convicted murderer over “COVID-19 fears” and he was just busted robbing a damn bank.
A convicted murderer cut loose from Rikers Island amid the coronavirus outbreak in the jail was promptly rearrested for bank robbery, police sources said.
James Little, 40, was cut loose from the jail because of the coronavirus outbreak on March 28 after being locked up for strangulation earlier in the month, the sources said.
About a week later on the morning of April 7, Little allegedly tried to rob an Apple Bank on Irving Place in Gramarcy Park, police said.
He wore a face mask and gloves in the attempted heist and passed a note to a teller that read “give me money,” police said. He left empty handed.
Cops busted Little the next day — and have now linked him to two previous bank robberies, police sources said.
Investigators believe he knocked over two Midtown banks on Jan. 23 and Dec. 26, leaving with $1,000 in each robbery, police sources said. [New York Post]
Bill de Blasio has made an absolute mess of the Corona crisis in his city.
From encouraging people to get out and “go eat at Chinese restaurants” just before the outbreak hit to releasing inmates back onto the streets, this man is wildly incompetent and should be removed from office.
New York City needs a quarantine from de Blasio if they have any hope of recovering.
