In a desperate attempt to grab back the limelight, Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) sent an inaccurate and passive-aggressive letter on the coronavirus to the White House on Thursday.
In the letter Schumer got his facts wrong and put politics above public safety. This is an indication of how crazed the Democrats are to do anything to stop the rise of the president’s poll numbers.
Schumer wrote, “While companies that volunteer to produce ventilators and personal protective equipment are to be commended and are appreciated, America cannot rely on a patchwork of uncoordinated voluntary efforts to combat the awful magnitude of this pandemic. It is long past the time for your administration to designate a senior military officer to fix this urgent problem.”
Schumer knows as well as anybody else that the president’s team has highly coordinated the entire effort. He also can see with his own eyes Dr. Deborah Birx, a career Army officer, Admiral Brett Giroir of USPHS, and purchasing chief Rear Admiral John Polowczyk at the briefings. But he ignored it to play to his pals in the press who dutifully echoed his lies.
But the president hit him back hard on Thursday, making mincemeat of the senator’s charges: “Thank you for your Democrat public relations letter and incorrect sound bites, which are wrong in every way. As you are aware, Vice President Pence is in charge of the Task Force. By almost all accounts, he has done a spectacular job.”
Trump continued, “If you spent less time on your ridiculous impeachment hoax, which went haplessly on forever and ended up going nowhere (except increasing my poll numbers), and instead focused on helping the people of New York, then New York would not have been so completely unprepared for the ‘invisible enemy.’ No wonder AOC and others are thinking about running against you in the primary. If they did, they would likely win.”
The Democrats rely on their media lapdogs to spread their propaganda. But we have a president in the White House who has his own bully pulpit to get his message out.
So when they try this type of ploy, they just come off, again, as the gang who can’t shoot straight. Sad, for a once mighty and responsible political party.
