In a data driven briefing on Monday afternoon President Trump listed what his team is doing, and has done, to fight the virus.

He detailed his overall good dealings with the governors, though noted Maryland Governor Larry Hogan “didn’t understand too much of what was going on” and that Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker “didn’t understand his capacity” for testing for the virus in his state.

The president numerated funds already spent such as $75 billion for hospitals and $1.4 billion for community health centers. He expects a vote on Tuesday in the Senate to advance the Democrat delayed small business aid program and noted the Army Corps of Engineers has built 32 hospitals that contain 15,800 beds. The U.S. medical industry is also conducting 72 active trials for virus treatments and a virus vaccine. 211 more are in the planning stages.

Trump noted that the U.S. will soon be shipping ventilators to Italy and Mexico and said the nation must “bring our supply chain back.” He also is expecting a White House visit on Tuesday from New York Governor Andrew Cuomo.

A leftist reporter tried to imply the president was a racist in a passive aggressive question on hospital beds for minorities. The president easily shut her down and went to the next question.

In other comments on governors the president said Governor Hogan “liked the federal guidelines” for reopening his state and announced Florida Governor Ron DeSantis will use the National Guard to administer testing. South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster was hit by a reporter on his plan to reopen certain stores to business.

The president also spoke of ongoing negotiations with South Korea over reimbursement for the cost of maintaining 36,000 U.S. troops in the nation and defending the South Koreans since 1950. The South Koreans have made an initial offer of financial reimbursement that the president found too low and rejected. Negotiations continue.
