Even though I believe in the stay-at-home orders to protect citizens as I have a 94-year-old mother who resides in an assisted living facility and is ripe for mirroring some of these nursing homes reporting increasing death totals due to COVID-19 symptoms, little Patton Oswalt is off his rocker with this comparison.
I don’t know whether not so-called actor Oswalt was trying to be funny or was trying to make an off-the-cliff witty remark about individuals protesting stay-at-home orders. He compared them to Anne Frank.

IN 1942, Frank and her family went into hiding in German-occupied Amsterdam in a secret apartment behind her father’s business. In 1944, the Franks were discovered moved to a concentration camp; only Anne’s father survived. In February 1945, the Frank sisters’ bodies were thrown in a mass grave after dying of typhus at Bergen-Belsen.
Anne’s diary was published in 1947. It documented her family’s time in hiding during the German occupation and has been translated into almost 70 languages and is one of the most widely read accounts of the Holocaust.
The difference Mr. Oswalt is that Ann Frank was a persecuted Jew in hiding being hunted by Hitler thugs, and Americans have never experienced anything that tragic. There is no parallel to what she went through, dummy.
Anne Frank spent 2 years hiding in an attic and we’ve been home for just over a month with Netflix, food delivery & video games and there are people risking viral death by storming state capital buildings & screaming, “Open Fuddruckers!”

He’s one of the wealthy Hollywood crowd that collects millions of coronavirus dollars for theaters when people are living on the streets in California. I don’t listen to or take directions from loudmouths with microphones.

It is easy to call other people whiners when you have millions of dollars. Perhaps he should donate half his fortune to ease the pain of those who don’t know where their next meal is coming from because they lost their job and spent some of their money to attend his performances.
Hey Patton, would you like to report to us about your efforts to help the 22 million who filed for unemployment the last four weeks and the food banks who are turning people away because they don’t have enough food to provide?
