Marion Ross spent years playing Marion Cunningham on the beloved sitcom “Happy Days,” which continues to be beloved today nearly four decades after it ended.
At 91 years of age, Ross is considered to be at a higher risk of coronavirus than younger folks, so many fans have been fearing for her safety during this pandemic. That’s why she decided to speak to Fox News this week to let her fans know that her family is keeping her very safe through COVID-19.
“My family is so devoted to my well being,” the actress explained. “My son brings me a green drink everyday with kale, broccoli and protein powder. My daughter and son also bring me groceries and make sure I have everything I need.”
Ross went on to add that though life is simple in quarantine, it’s how she prefers things to be.
“I’m just staying in and staying out of trouble,” she said. “It is a wonderful excuse to step away from all the business. I walk around my property and look at spring coming to life! I have always been a positive person. I keep informed about what we need to do, but I try not to watch too much news.”
Ross’ advice to her fans is to try and maintain a positive attitude as well by using this time indoors to bond with family.
“It is such a wonderful time to bond and connect with family even if we are not together,” she said. “I also have been calling friends to see how they are and have a little chat.”
Since she’s known for playing one of the most loved TV moms of all times, Ross was also asked what her motherly advice would be.
“We will get through this, children,” she said. “Just be good and stay home!”
Though Ross spent years continuing to have a successful acting career after “Happy Days” ended its run in 1984, these days, she said, “I really am retired.” However, she continues to be close to the family that she made on the set of “Happy Days,” which includes Hollywood greats like Ron Howard and Henry Winkler.
“We took our time [on ‘Happy Days’] very, very seriously,” she said. “It bonded us. We became so close… We were children at play.”
