Liberal politicians all over the country are using the virus crisis to try and enact a leftist agenda. In Virginia the governor has closed gun shops. In California there are draconian penalties for leaving your house.

And now in Kansas, in a move that will likely go all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court, the governor is trying to stop religious services. The governor of Kentucky is following her lead. These actions are in blatant violation of the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, a measure that guarantees freedom of worship.

And of course, just to shove the knife in a little deeper, these liberal politicians are making their move on Easter and Passover.

But the Trump administration is fighting back.

“While social distancing policies are appropriate during this emergency, they must be applied evenhandedly [and] not single out religious [organizations],” Trump Department of Justice Director of Communications Kerri Kupec tweeted.

The mayor of Louisville, KY, is trying to stop even drive-in religious services. A judge stopped him.

“The Mayor’s decision is stunning,” said District Judge Justin Walker, a former clerk to Supreme Court Associate Justice Brett Kavanaugh, “And it is, ‘beyond all reason,’ unconstitutional.”

In Grenville, MS, the mayor is trying the same thing.

“Churches are strongly encouraged to hold services via Facebook Live, Zoom, Free Conference Call, and any and all other social media, streaming and telephonic platforms,” Mayor Eric Simmons’ office said in a press release dictating a vicious ban on in-person and drive-in church services.

The Alliance Defending Freedom is suing him to repel the ban.

Religious liberty leader Kelly Shackelford is decrying the nationwide suppression of freedom of faith by liberal elected officials, “It targets churches in a way that it targets no other group. Cars in parking lots are fine. It’s only a crime if the cars in the parking lot are at the church parking lot.”
