On Saturday, Breaking Bad actor Bryan Cranston decided it was his turn to ruffle the feathers of Trump supporters, questioning their sanity in supporting Trump:

“I’ve stopped worrying about the President’s sanity. He’s not sane. And the realization of his illness doesn’t fill me with anger, but with profound sadness. What I now worry about is the sanity of anyone who can still support this distraught man to lead our country.”

I notice that Cranston stopped short of calling Trump supporters insane, but really in a way, it’s a difference without a distinction.

I am disappointed with his tweet. I am not a fan of Cranston’s work. I couldn’t get into the television show, Breaking Bad, but I did like watching Sneaky Pete. And a lot of people who support, or at least will vote for; the President did, too. Actors will bleed their audience if they continue to give their hot takes on politics. I’m certainly not going to boycott his work, but I will certainly be much less enthusiastic about him.

Remember this when you think about soulless Hollywood stars who jump into politics when they get bored — it was an actor who murdered the FIRST Republican President. Little has changed in the last 155 years. Many actors now want to murder this Republican President. Most of them have the good sense and self-control not to make any such suggestions out loud where it might get captured on video. But, in their heart of coal-black hearts, they want him to cease to exist.

To paraphrase an old quote, “In a nation where those in media and Hollywood are completely insane, the normal guy is considered crazy.” Trump is admittedly eccentric, but he’s far from insane. In a sane world, most of what liberal Hollywood and the media believe in would be considered clinically and utterly mad. I’ll never understand why so many people believe that those who make their living pretending to be other people and things they are not are even remotely relevant about anything?

Cranston would do well to look in the mirror next time he throws the “insanity” moniker around when pretending he’s another person.
