Former chief executive Barack Obama will endorse de facto Democratic nominee Joe Biden in a video set to be released on Tuesday.

This will momentarily put Biden back in the headlines and will give him a boost with black voters, though he has done well with those voters throughout the primary season.

Obama will likely play a large role at the August convention in Milwaukee. Since Obama is the last electorally successful Democrat to hold the office of president, Biden will try to catch some of his popularity with Democrat and swing voters.

But Obama was just as polarizing as he was popular and the myriad scandals of his two terms in office could come to haunt Biden. As vice-president under Obama, Biden has his share of blame for those ethical lapses and corrupt practices.

Also, if Biden wins it would possibly delay the Michelle Obama timetable for running for office. That could make the Barack Obama endorsement a half-hearted effort.
